We had another crypto thread going, but this seems kind of significant and can be more BTC focused.

I've already cashed out half of what I'd invested myself, but tempting to pull more. Will I regret it long term? probably. How's everyone feeling about it?

If it goes much higher, I'll finally break even on crypto after my bad shitcoin gambles from seven years ago!

My son has some but bitcoin. He was mighty low when it was at 15K. Feeling cocky now and sticking with the plan. I just put 5K in SMR because it is supposedly a potential 10 bagger.(According to some talking head on some show) Down 16.76 %in 2 days. 馃檨

The ones who bought $Hawk I haven鈥檛 the slightest shred of sympathy for at all. To buy into that knowing that it being another rug pull is almost a certainty and doing so over the Hawk Tuah girl is insanity.

They鈥檙e not victims, they鈥檙e paypigs.

I鈥檝e said it before and will say it again. When your uber drivers etc, start giving you financial advice, aka, this, stay away. Pigs indeed get slaughtered.

People predicted BTC would be $100k, and people predicted Steve Jobs would go belly up...someone is always right and someone is always wrong. Personally, I feel 'slow and steady' wins the race, but nothing wrong with throwing a little cash at some potential upsides...emphasis on "little"...odds are not in your favor gambling all your eggs in 1 basket. And even if you make a lucky move, you still may find yourself unwittingly selling too early when you use 10,000 bitcoin to buy 2 pizzas or pay for that 105.003 you've been eyeing...

I'd rather buy derivative spreads on 3x single stock ETFs. Something like a back ratio credit spread with 30 day expiration.
Or, just park large positions into FNGU which has done very well for me. I don't think you can get 1000% returns on bitcoin now.

I gambled some of my 'fun money' on leveraged BTC and ETH positions.... I should probably be smart and sell.... But it's not new watch money quite yet.

Glad I'm not the only one crazy enough around here to place a bet on FNGU. 馃槀

I've been in and out of FNGU for many years. That Bank of Montreal seems to have a very good performing team. I put more than a few 100K. They don't loose as much as the market down turn and when it goes up, they really go up.

Good Lord, you have a big appetite for risk. I have put a bit into FNGU or UPRO when there's a big pullback in the market, but I'd be sick to my stomach to leverage up on that kind of dough.

the thing is: we are way way too early into crypto financial. The upside is MASSIVE. Downside is whatever you can afford to loose.
My only question is: will BTC reach $1,000,000USD a coin? If you are in the "yes" camp, then load up. "no" camp stay out. But it hurts a bit knowing I could have bought some BTC in college for a few dollars. I actually did a presentation on BTC for a finance class. This was right around the time of "10,000 BTC pizza"*.

*For those don't know: This is the early days of Bitcoin, trading for pennies a coin. A guy in Florida offered 10,000 Bitcoin for any stranger to buy and deliver a $25pizza to his home. This legitimize Bitcoin as a currency. In today value, that single pizza cost $1 Billion USD.

I don鈥檛 know how long you been in Nividia but do you remember when Nividia and Bitcoin were tied at the hip because of Bitcoin mining? People couldn鈥檛 buy enough of Nividias graphic cards for mining. Nividia stock would move with bitcoins price for quite a while. I think both Nividia and Bitcoin pulled off the unexpected.

If only I had a crystal ball back in the early days. The whole idea to me was a foreign language when it first came out.

But tbh it would not surprise me if there were a rather substantial retracement as Bitcoin gotta be so leveraged now so much money is going into it before it is even mined but things can remain irrational a lot longer than I can remain sane or financially sound
