Big Black Wood Box with Omega written on it arrived during a blizzard today. Checked it out, but nothing seems to need dusting off :p
Too late to play much with the contents though, been a busy day.
Of course nothing really here without pictures, you know. But hey, there's always your imagination.

Just figured if I was tempted by that piece in the sales forum you would be tempted too. And considering 7-10 days for delivery from the UK then when I saw the box...

I am very pleased , "feels" like the real thing on the wrist. Of course we are all aware of the changes, but it is like being able to go back to 1960 (OK, some here could not do that :p) and buy a new watch; and that was just the effect I was hoping for.
I have placed it on a Hirsch Medici, more to follow.

If it were me, not to nitpick by any means, I'd see if some genius watchmaker knew how to remove the sapphire crystal and give it something significantly cheaper. Hesalite perhaps?

Awesome watch though, they got this one really right!

I've considered it. I have the crystal in stock. Two things. I believe they have changed the crystal shape so that the sapphire does not show the wide blue ring that it did on other Speedmasters and the AR coating is on the inside which also makes it warmer. The effects of these is that it more closely resembles the original 2998 with a silver ring. So I believe I will hold off and leave well enough alone.

Looks really retro with those hands

Does that mean those hands will be available from Omega?

    Hi all,

I recently saw one of these at my local Omega AD and am really drawn to it even though I'm not really sure why of course I do understand the subtle differences between this and the normal Moonwatch but am a little confused as to why it costs so much more when it comes with less. As in only a leather strap and buckle no deployment or SS bracelet. Is the IMO nicer hands an no crown guards and applied Omega logo really worth the extra cost?

Yes true, but for practicality I could not help going to this bracelet.
