Although well-known to collectors of Japanese dive watches, this is a watch that you don't see too often outside of Japan. Introduced in the mid-1960s along with some of Orient's other early dive watches, this is a large (40mm), solid, all stainless dive watch with a rotating world-time bezel, and an amazing glossy dial with gilt printing and interesting trapezoidal lume plots. The case has chunky tapered lugs with prominent chamfers. And what can you say about the frogman on the case-back! It is powered by a 21j in-house Orient cal 670 movement.

This example appears to be all original, including the crown, gently domed acrylic crystal, and signature two-toned lume on hands and dial. The watch shows minor wear, but is in excellent condition, with a gorgeous dial and sharp case. There are some tool marks on the back and a few minor marks on the bezel, but overall it's a clean and beautiful example. It will come with a nice stainless Orient bracelet that complements the watch, but is more recent in my opinion. The movement is keeping time and the date turns over properly; I have no service history on the watch. Please take a close look at the photos and let me know if you have questions.

If you're interested in reading more about this model, Tomas Rosputinsky wrote a nice article about it on the Fratellowatches site last year, including his interesting discovery that this watch was worn by the "Japanese James Bond" in a 1960s TV show called Spy Catcher J3 (https://www.fratellowatches.com/tbt...ndar-auto-orient-swimmer-o-19762a-watch/#gref).

I am asking $1,875 USD by PP F&F, Zelle, bank wire, or other fee-free electronic payment. The watch and I are in the US (Colorado). Shipping included within the US.

It’s a beauty, if only it could be 36mm instead of 40.
GLWS and have a free bump on me.
