    Hi all,

Recently purchased a seamaster 60m "big crown" 1969/70 with the above reference number. At the moment it doesnt have a bezel so am looking for a replacement or some advice. Anything would be really appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

FYI: 166.062 is the reference number. The serial number is on the movement, and for 1969/70 it should be somewhere from 27 million-ish to maybe 32 million-ish.

Ok, thanks. This is my first watch (have a mate guiding me through it, but he is in Australia, I'm in UK). I bought off ebay and not received yet. So do I need to quote the serial number or is the reference number sufficient?

    Thanks

Reference number is the important one.

gratz on the watch I was watching this one as we'll but not sure how hard it is to locate a bezel. This is my 166.062 currently at archers for a service.

Bezels are discontinued from Omega, so you will have to locate a new old stock one that has been sitting somewhere or find a used one.

Thanks Chad, thats a lovely watch you have there, the red dial is beautiful on these. I was debating myself whether to go for it but looking at pictures of them with bezel I thought it was worth the gamble. And I guess its better to have a bit of a story for my first watch hey? ;).

Thanks Al, I contacted Swiss Repair services in UK who told me they were discontinued. Is my best bet to set ebay as my home page and sit and wait or are there any particulars sites etc that would be worth looking at? As a newbie my resources are limited!

I don't know of anyone who might have something like this...eBay is likely going to be the best route.

This might help you - the bezel part number is listed as 082ST1660062. However this is listed as the "dark red" bezel - they don't list another colour for that case reference. Have you verified the numbers inside the case back?

    Good luck with the hunt!

    Cheers, Al

Thanks Al, I know they do a dark red as well as the black/blue dial. I haven't received the watch off ebay yet but the case back definitely has 166.062 on there.

Okay no worries - if it was different I was going to look again for you, but if not then there is no new bezel available. Bummer because it's a really nice watch.

    Cheers, Al
