This watch caught my eye on the bay. Love the look of it, but it seems way too clean. And that Crack on the bezel. How does that happen when the rest of the piece looks so pristine? At first I thought it had just been very polished, but the brushed buts of the case are still nice. I just really don't know what to make of it.
Also, what are your thoughts on the 1001 caliber? I've heard that they are kind of high maintenance and not terribly desireable.
I'm very new to older omegas, so apologies for all of the questions. Trying to learn as much as possible before I buy a vintage.
    Thanks in advance.

That watch has been discussed here before. Please search it out.

The crack in the bezel makes it a no go for me. Cost to fix or new bezel are going to cost a lot. You are correct that the cal. 1001 was not Omega's best. Good ones are very good, bad ones are trouble.
