I was fiddling around with my newest Speedmaster (which is a project watch for the moment) and I decided to take out the bezel and swap it with my other Speedie which had a bezel with some scratches. Both are 145.022 (one is 1970 other is 1985) On the 1985 one I managed to put the 1970s bezel no problem with hands (twice actually) but the 1985 bezel onto the 1970 - no chance. I read online that I need some case press, where can I get one that I can use on other watches as well? What do I need to put back the bezel ? Thanks
Hi all, I’d be grateful for any up to date advice - are there any bezel press tools that are recommended (for a Speedy Pro)? Seems to be some relatively inexpensive options on the bay but I’ve no idea if they’re fit for purpose. Any recommendations greatly appreciated, thanks.
I have successfully re-installed Speedmaster bezels with an inexpensive press with nylon dies. Sometimes they go on easily and sometimes less easily. I take no responsibility for damage that anyone else causes with the same approach, and I'm definitely not recommending any specific cheap tool.
Thanks guys - I’ll check with my local watch maker tomorrow and take it from there. Probably little point buying a tool I’d only use once or twice.
