Looking to grab a few straps (leather and NATO) whenever I pick up my new Speedy, but the OEM straps are a bit too expensive in my opinion - any high quality alternatives?

For single color NATOs I have a couple favorites.

https://oncewill.com/ They have a black NATO that, to me, is almost indistinguishable from the Omega black NATO sans the Omega branding of course.

https://www.geckota.com/the-vintage-watch-company-nato-by-geckota Their NATOs from the Vintage Watch Company are fantastic. Not as thick as a seatbelt style but it doesn’t matter. Because of the bit of black woven into every color they look very premium and are just as comfortable. The same website also has a vintage Bond NATO with true colors for those that are not into the RAF style keepers.

My credit card is ready for more suggestions.
I've been really wanting a NASA Velcro Strap.

Only thing stopping me is the fear of lug straps.
(yes, I have a problem but I can't do it. I don't want to scratch a new watch. No amount of tape can stop it from happening.)

You can go to all the usual aftermarket strap joints for the new 3861 version. If you are uncomfortable wielding a spring bar tool you can get many straps with quick release spring bars making changes a 10 second operation.

Genteel Straps have that option along with a huge array of material, colors, linings, threads, etc and they will make straps that will work with Omega deployants. There are many others.

Honestly, I've done it successfully on many watches but the scratches do bother me. I agree with the quick release but I need to do the
initial taking off the bracelet off the watch.
I'm tempted to go to the Omega boutique and ask them or I just need to get over it.

You can take it to the boutique for removal of the bracelet which can sometimes be tricky if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. I can't get too upset over a nick or two on the back side of lugs, most used watches that have had strap changes have some tell tale marks. It's life.

Also give Delugs straps a try as an alternative to Genteel, good quality for the money. They do custom as well if you have a deployant you want to use.

I would suggest a Bergeon 6111 spring bar tool to make strap changes easier with the spatula V tip.

Plus one for Delugs especially as they have the spring bars fitted to there straps already.

I'm going to hold off for now but I've been eyeballing the Bergeon 7825

I would highly recommend Hirsch straps. They are an American company and you can buy them from holbens and longislandwatch. They are extremely well made, super thick, and they have really nice spring bars too. Overall one of the best value straps I have ever bought and I use them for my speedy and planet ocean

Ordered a 19mm for another watch. It's a great company.

Jean Rousseau straps are practically OEM but slightly less than OEM for the most part.

Crown & Buckle Supreme NATO. Excellent hardware with nice satin finish, and does a good job of matching the brushed finish on the sides of speedy cases. Haven’t tried the newer Matte Supreme NATO, but have several of their regular Supreme NATO. More than satisfied.

These velcro straps are pretty sweet as well. Shorter length for better fit and look, and the rubber keeper makes a difference.
