This is the best photo I've seen of the Apollo 11 Crew..Aldrin, Collins and Armstrong And of the Saturn V rocket in flight for Apollo 11.... And finally, the moment of the 'One Small Step' onto the moon being broadcast live at Central Park in NYC.
The third one is cool for two reasons...it captures the very moment when Armstrong hops from the last step to land on the moon surface, and it shows a unique view of what I believe are cables up to a balloon receiver to obtain the best broadcast signal(remember this is 1969). This one below is from Apollo 9 with Dave Scott doing his EVA...March 1969...what a great view!
@Wryfox I think those were not official NASA crew portraits but these were made by LIFE magazine... half of the Apollo crews got such a photo. Here's another example of the Apollo 10 crew John Young + Thomas Stafford + Eugene Cernan , the dress rehearsal for Apollo 11 in May 1969... .
