You know what sucks? Spending a year hunting correct NOS parts to make one nice watch, then strapping it on your wrist only to find it doesn't suit you. My loss can be your gain as it would cost you more than my asking price to find all the parts and pay for a service on top of that. Up for grabs is a Benrus WristAlarm using an A. Schild's caliber inside that was just serviced by one of our professional watchmakers / members. The rose tinted gold plated case and dial are NOS parts and it shows - look how crisp the lug facets are in the pictures.

I've tried to magnify any imperfections. There are some very minor scuffs and minuscule dings, probably from bouncing around a drawer for decades. The crowns are slightly mismatched also as shown - but this is only noticeable from the picture below and isn't apparent on the wrist.

Sorry, no movement shot as the case snaps together very tightly and I didn't want to risk damage by popping it open. If there were any issues, Steve / N2FHL would have told me when he was working on it.

It comes with a nearly brand new (only worn for a couple hours around the house) Kelaran glove leather strap as shown. Asking a mere $350 which includes USPS Priority Mail shipping within the CONUS. All other locations please ask about shipping costs. I happily accept Paypal too. Contact via e-mail [email protected] or simply PM me here.

Thanks for looking!

Shame you didn't like this one on the wrist. I was involved for part of this hunt (though I was never able to come through on the parts).

$350 serviced is an absolute STEAL! From a dealer this would be a $600 watch, and that'd be a fair price IMHO.

I should point out that the crowns are indeed mismatched--intentionally so, from the factory. Take a look at enough of the AS 1475 alarms and you see that most of the brands used mismatched crowns to make it easier to distinguish between the one that set/winded/activated the alarm and the main crown.

Good luck with the sale!

That's a good looking watch. You generally have very good overall taste in watches. I admire your discipline about watch size and the fact that you're never a size queen.

Back to the Benrus: the dial furniture on this watch is very pleasing to my eye.

I have a "similar" watch (i guess the similarity is that they're both wrist alarms hahaha).

Mine is a J.P. Pingouin (worth owning one just for the guilty pleasure of correctly pronouncing "Pingouin" in public. This ugly American is so gauche!! It keeps almost perfect time. I think the name is a marketing gimmick for a fashion watch but it's got the bog standard 2 movement(s) guts.

These alarm watches tend to be a little chunky for the era (thin, was in) which makes them desirable for this era. JMHO.

Let me see if I can dig up
a picture
or two...

GLWS although at that price you won't be needing any of my dumb luck. Personally, I think you underpriced her but I know you know what you're doing.

Somebody is going to be getting a red hot deal!

Did I miss the size? Any idea on when it was manufactured?

I'll measure it tonight, but it's about 35 mm. I'd say it's a late 60's or early 70's watch.

Is not a bad looking piece, but at 34.6 mm it will end in my wife's regular rotation scheme! She already took possession of my latest Longines of similar size :-( and good deal at that price!

haha i thought i was the only one. my honey is starting to put together a nicer vintage collection than my own. seems like she has an eye for anything moon phase.

pro tip: most women won't wear a "used" watch if it has a used leather strap. so, if you really want to keep a smaller sized watch (or, at least keep it un-worn and off your wife's wrist), keep sure to keep a sweaty old leather strap on it. j/k sort of...

sorry for sidetracking your for sale thread. frankly, i'm surprised it's still available.
