Can't find a B&R dealer around me but I have this watch on my to buy list: B&R BR01-96 Seems like a thoroughly obnoxious and cool addition to my collection. Anyone own a B&R like this? Corn
Thoroughly obnoxious? Check! Cool? Most definitely NOT. They make seasoned watch collectors cringe because of the brand's bullshit faux history marketing scheme.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. 8 years ago I liked the square B&R's but I had a feeling they would quickly go out of style and look horrible. Turns out I was right. Currently I think the style would make an awesome high end techy dive watch, but they would never do it.
Oh fair enough. Seem to do quite well for a brand that makes stuff up, compared to less successful companies with genuine history that fade away.
Most B&R dealers have big collections of those... And it seems they like to show them but not sell them ... Those watches scream "I have bad enough taste for a Hublot but can't afford one"...
I don't like the overpriced junk part because that makes it hard to flip if I hate it. I will look at one in person.
This x100 I know 3 local dealers that have pulled B&R due to low sales. They are flooding the used market as they go out of style. That being said B&R make some decent looking non square watches.
