Been awhile...and now it’s 321 Seamasters, not Speedmasters

Been awhile since I last posted anything. (Sometimes, one’s personal life becomes so traumatic that everything else fades into the background. Just a series of ‘family problems’. Things are much better now, but they will never be the same either. There’s a way that life is a deeply alienating experience. Makes me sad for all of us.)

Anyway, when I was last carrying on here some months ago, I’d been in the midst of a fetish for Ed White Speedmasters and generally wore one most days. (I have small wrists and once I discovered the Eds, I stopped wearing my Professionals almost entirely.)

(Yes, by some lights here, I am out of my mind. But, I love wearing these watches; it seems such a shame to hide them away. I wouldn’t buy a watch that I wouldn’t wear, at least a few times.)

So, I’ve moved on. A little, anyway. Here are a few of my current rotation.

    From left to right: 145.005-67. 105.005-65. 105.001-62

Now, I’m hooked on early 60’s Seamaster chronographs. They are lighter and smaller still. And they’ve spoiled me. The Professionals feel so bulky on my wrist now that I don’t want to wear them at all; even the Eds feel heavy. And of course, these Seamasters are much less expensive than 321 Speedmasters.

Got to be careful though. Hard to find really nice dials, which appear to be the most fragile component on these.

Also found one of these. But too nice to wear:

The sickness that this hobby represents! :whistling:

I have mostly followed along here during the period of my apparent absence, and have appreciated the diversion that OF represented for me. Thank you everyone. ;)

Y’all keep up the good work!

Sorry you went through that. I find very few people escape life's punch in the gut, and unfortunately, you get more than one over one's lifetime.

Your last lines are so true. "Riders on the Storm."

I feel ya’ brother. My dark year was 2012, let me tell you, once you go through the meat grinder, everything else feels like a tickle. It gives you new perspective on what’s truly important.
Love the Seamaster Chrono’s, but haven’t gotten one yet. As you said, seems hard to find ones that aren’t challenged and I can’t abide a scruffy dial.

Glad you're back, and yes, life at times throws all of us a curve ball it's how we respond which makes the difference.

    Your '321's look amazing!

Dang it. 1 min too late...

But I seem to think there was more than one... so double dibs.

Edit - great to see you back. Sorry to hear about the issues. But glad to hear things are better.
    Wonderful choices on those seamasters!
