I told my wife I was done...to a degree...when the DRSD arrived. I've held true to my word, only buying inexpensive watches for fun and to flip. Nothing has caught my eye...until @nsumner offered me a Leonidas CP2 in trade for the 5153.

I ended up buying it, and it arrived today. Man, it is one cool as watch.

It’s the 1st batch of the CP2 with the V222 flyback movement and 3 notch 30m sub dial. There is some delamination on the center of the dial, but other than that, it’s pretty damn sweet.

Loving a 43mm mil issued chrono that hasn’t been filled with service parts.

Seriously nice pick up. The detail are amazing, love the long distance timer function on a military issue. That really not common.

 

That's a real beauty. On top of everything else, I'm a sucker for sharp lugs.

Congrats, these leonidas are exceptional toolwatches. I had a NOS one with the box and bracelet, and it’s one of the few watches I miss.
Being Italian, the military connection is pretty cool. What you have going on your dial is the degradation of a layer of laquer they applied on the dial, it’s called Zapon if I recall correctly, and half of the CP2s have this issue... I was told the name of a watchmaker who removed this stuff, I can PM it to you if you want, I would leave it alone though.
