I am selling a very attractive ref. 9004 Longines Conquest Calendar, originally invoiced in June of 1959. There is no doubt that virtually any dealer would characterize the watch as being in excellent condition overall, as to the naked eye it does show really well. But I prefer to be conservative in my assessments, so that when the watch is in the hands of its new owner, any surprises are likely to be pleasant. So, in that context, I would say that the watch is in very good to excellent condition, as under magnification a few minor flaws can be seen. There are a few – and I do mean a few – small scratches on the dial. They are barely noticeable to the naked eye, but should be mentioned. The case is unpolished, and, like the rest of the watch, shows really well. Under magnification it is possible to see a small number of scratches, and a tiny amount of pitting. The hands show some oxidation, and a bit of the lume on the minute hand is missing. The movement is clean with the exception of a few light scratches on the rotor, which can be seen under magnification. Again, I am being very critical, but prefer to be precise. And having listed the above blemishes, I will say that it won't be easy to find a nicer example than this, and especially at this reasonable price point. I am asking $975, and will, include shipping from Portugal at that price. Feel free to ask any questions! Regards, Tony C.
I guess I took an Internet Forum hiatus at exactly the wrong time ... Must still congratulate the fortunate buyer, and respected seller, however!
@JohnSteed Sorry about that, John. I was fooled by the (No prefix) in the system, and forgot to click on it this time. I have some other watches that I plan to sell, so if you are looking for anything in particular, feel free to send me a PM. Cheers, Tony C.
