Can anyone give a view on this please ? I've just come across this & although the crystal, back and strap are a bit rough the case looks pretty good & it might be suitable for restoration.

The dial is my main concern. I'm guessing the cracked crystal has let moisture in & expect the movement will need an overhaul. But can the dial be saved, or is it so far gone that only a redial is going to retrieve it ?

I don't think the dial can be saved.

The dial could be the least of your worries, Watchco have those dials coming out their arses, and nobody buys them as those dials rarely get damaged. Even Ofrei has them in stock: http://www.ofrei.com/page1106.html

That Cal 1040 movement if its rusted out is going to be the real liability

Thanks both. If the dial can't be saved, I'm not going to even start thinking about the movement ! Shame though.
