    Hey OF goers!

Faced with a bit of a dilemma. I've been saving up for quite some time to get a couple grail pieces and finally found a seller bundling a 69 speedy with papers (no box) and a seamaster 300 1st gen for just north of $14k.

For the 69 speedy, after referencing speedmaster101 and a couple other sources, everything appears correct. My main concern is the dial where most of the tritium on the markers has come off. That said the rest of the dial, hands, and DO90 bezel are all in great shape and I figured I could hunt down a box to complete the set.

For the SM300, I love the originality of the dial but am wondering if it's worth getting an aldo bezel at some point in the future.

Both pieces are serviced. I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger but wanted to get a couple second opinions. Can post more pics in case anyone's interested. IMG_2187.PNG IMG_2188.PNG

    The Seamaster is probably a 3rd generation 165014, circa 62-64 I think.
Most collectors would advise to keep the original bezel.
    Absolutely post more pics

SM looks awesome. I'd leave as is for sure.

Pity about the speedy though. The lume is a big part of the charm of a vintage speedmaster.

If Seller would sell separately, I'd pick up the seamaster and keep looking for a speedy. There's usually a few here for sale.

Does the seller give you a price breakdown?. I am not sure this question is even relevant. Just curious I guess.

    I'm gonna guess 6k/8k speedmaster/seamaster. @kingsrider, got a guess?

14k for both seems too good to be true though.

$6000 could be a little light with that bezel and if the watch has a 1039 bracelet. The lume loss doesn't bother that much. At least the plots haven't gone mold green.

@oddboy he's offering the SM separately for a little under 7k, I'm unfamiliar with SM pricing, is that fair for the condition? I do have a 74 speedy but was really looking to trade up to a pre-moon. To your point, maybe I'll hold off on the speedy, I was mainly enticed by the paperwork for this one.

@gemini4 here's some more pics of the watches in question

Here's a pic of my 74 for reference

I would ask for confirmation of the caliber (appears to be 550) and movement number of the SM

For $7k, I would grab the SM300 assuming it checks out, but I'd pass on the Speedmaster with the washed dial. These are pretty common - you'll find another that is better. However, purely on the basis of "value", the package deal could definitely be worth it, especially if the Speedmaster is on the original bracelet.

SM300 for me at that price - reasonable. speedie is nice too . would you consider sending this to an expert to touch up the lume?

The speedy comes with papers and is on a 12/49 bracelet (according to the seller) and looks like it's got 47 end links. I'm not sure if that's the correct bracelet though.

Not sure? Seems like some collectors would rather it be completely original vs touching it up. Also not sure how much touching up the markers would cost...

The papers are nice to have, but they are secondary to the appeal of the watch itself. The bracelet sounds like it could be correct, but in the photo, the end links look too narrow, so I suspect that it's not entirely original. The Speedmaster may well be "worth" $7k if you add up the value of the parts, but IMO it's more important to decide whether it's appealing to you compared to a different one that you could buy for a similar price.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm leaning towards just getting the SM300. Personally, I'd pick a nice looking lume over papers.
