This one I hadn't really been expecting, a Seamaster Aqua Terra in precious metal with a world timer complication, on leather strap and what might be an enamel portion of the dial in the center. I haven't been able to find further information on this reference yet but it seems to be a halo piece similar to the PT950 non-date Globemaster with blue markers that was offered previously. At a guess I would say this piece will be both very costly and limited in its production but its an interesting piece none the less, and I think fits rather well with the overall aesthetic of the Aqua Terra dial.
Man the conical crown is something I've been hoping for since buying Dad his AT8500, the old crown sits flush with the case and there's just not enough friction to pull it out easily at all. The old vintage Seamaster clover crowns and 10 sided Constellation crowns had a bit where they went in a bit before meeting with the case so you could get a grip more easily but these bullet shaped ones were just annoying. Giving some more purchase so you can hack it or set it conveniently is very handy thing day to day.
I'm still trying to get more info on it, so far this one has been a bit like the "Phantom aventurine" Speedmaster of 2014 in that the pics looked really cool but it didn't have any renderings or detail floating around. The PT950 Glovenaster was a bit that way too, I really want to know if that world nap in the center of the dial is enamel too.
Yea I figured those two would be the case, with pricing likely to be similar to your globemaster and similar numbers made but I'm really curious about whether that map is enamel and more detail on the movement and size. It's a great looking piece that's for sure.
It was a similar situation for the platinum Globemaster, I think the halo watches like this are mostly spoken for by current clientele and production of them is so small that they don't tend to be seen in write-ups that often.
That makes sense. Even still, you'd think the major sites/blogs would at least mention this model... had to come here to know it even existed!
Yea I couldn't find any info on it even on Omega's website when I checked a few days ago, but that was also the same with the previous Globemaster, these ones tend to stay a bit hidden.
Yeah, don't get why Omega doesn't put up info on all of its BW releases... nothing on their official website regarding the non-LE Railmaster either and it's one of the most talked about watches so far.
Usd 48,600 Limited to 57 pieces Expectations sedna/TT/SS options in the future.. but likely with no enamel
Yeah.... and the things smooth bezel and big dial will make it wear even bigger I imagine.. I'm still anxious to try it on though..
What? Superdoc and Platinum? Like peanut butter and chocolate. Anna Nicole Smith and boobs. No trying it on: go place your order today!
