Barn find Breitling Chronograph, parts or repair?

Found this watch recently for a good price but was bummed to realize there is a big scratch on the dial. The dial appears original and with patina but that scratch really messes it up! The case is worn but is mainly tarnished and would look a lot better ultrasonically cleaned. I can hear the watch tick when shaken but none of the pushers work. Would this be a parts watch to sell off or should I seek to get it repaired? Thoughts?

That's rather nice, no way a parts watch, it will come up amazingly with a new glass, service and a case clean.
What a lucky find!

Is it a Breitling strap?

No breitling strap unfortunately. I paid $300 for it and here it is cleaned up a bit. Could still be better but the scratch on the dial still bugs me!!

Seems like a matter of personal taste, but I think the scratch would bother me also. And once it has your attention, I'm not sure you will be able to ignore it.

If you search long enough you might find either a NOS dial or a good replacement.
