I really like the look of these vintage seamasters – but Bakelite? My limited experience with bakelite generally consists of watching it crack, crumble or otherwise disintegrate under moderate use or torque.

Any 300 aficionados with something to add? Can these watches be safely worn – even possibly...near the sea and/or under the sun?

I wear mine everywhere - near the sea, under the sun, and even to the in law's...as with all vintage watches just be careful with them. I'm not the most careful person to be honest, but so far no issues so I'd say go for it.

i ware mine to work on night out ,I however try and keep it away from water. When I'm not wearing my watches I place a plactic film over the watch to save it from being scratched .

    Hello Trackpad,
The NATO strap I feel just finishes of what I think is such an iconic watch from the 60s. Love your big T nice piece .
