I asked this question on this thread: https://omegaforums.net/threads/badly-beaten-speedy-would-you-at-2400.39267/ given all the craziness with DON bezels lately, I'm very curious to know which would be more desirable or valuable, a beat up bezel or a DON with no dot? I imagine that, to a degree, it depends on the watch - the whole package, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
What's the issue with the lower bezel? MWO classifies it as a B1 Dot Diagonal 70. The dot is clearly visible.
The DoN is just a name to me. As per MWO the 60's bezels can be identified in other ways, so I'd take the second one all day long.
Why are some bezels chipping and some others not? Especially the ghost bezels seem not to have the chipping-problem, or am I wrong? Were some bezels coated and others chemical processed?
In the past 2 weeks there has need 2 DON bezels sold on eBay for crazy Money both went for £1400 plus . For me it all depends on the speedy and it condition .
it's still the correct bezel for watches of a specific era. as gemini4 says above, by mwo it's known as a 'dot diagonal to 70'. it's the correct bezel, but one (of several) key indicators is not visible.
