We are often very quick to jump on poor service whether it is AD or Service centre related, in fact it is not often we rain praise down on anyone, so I thought that I would take a few minutes to say thank you to the Omega UK service centre in Southampton.

I went and collected my Seamaster Diver (2010) from my AD at the weekend as the watch had been receiving a bit of long overdue tlc from the Omega Service team at Southampton and had arrived back at the AD.

Returned in a nice red Omega case, with plenty of foam padding, all the old parts, including gaskets, spring bars, winding crown and He valves, confirmation that the watch had been serviced, a full service kit was used.

What state was the watch in, well it looked brand new, the watch just gleams, it looks as though I have just removed the stickers, the bracelet links sparkle, something they haven't done for a while, the clasp is beautifully finished with all the minor scuffs removed, the two deep scratches on the clasp can still be seen but are less obvious. The engraved Omega Seamaster Professional is still nice and deep so the polishing has been well done.

The case is nicely polished, the satin finish looks just right with the mirror finish looking just as nice.

Really really pleased with the watch, thanks Omega

Always good to hear some positive news and experience from servicing! Congrats and wear your 'new' watch in good health!

It really does look fantastic! Is that the first service you've had done? If so, 9 years without a service seems pretty reasonable.

Yes, the first service, to be honest it was only when I went into my AD with the watch on and during a conversation the AD asked if I had had the watch serviced, when I said no they suggested that it would be worthwhile and intimated that the watch would come back looking like new, the AD wasn't wrong.

The watch really does look very impressive now it has had a clean and polish, I was thinking of adding a new Seamaster but now this one is back and looking so good there really isn't any point in buying a new one. :)

Now that's practical -- I'd be rationalizing the purchase of a brand-new Seamaster in celebration of this epochal service...

As my finance manager stated, 'it looks like new so you don't need a another watch do you'?

    No dear :(

All I can offer is the humblest of humble apologies for my complete ineptitude in this matter, pre and post pictures should have been automatic comparison, but I have failed, dismally :(

Great result, especially as you've just given your other half license to spend your watch budget (DOH!) so happy all round !

In 30years time, and another 3 or 4 services/polishes we'll know whether its affected the overall appearance significantly, but as no-one has a crystal ball go enjoy it for another 9 years as you have the last 9 years. Wear in good health.

Your watch looks great, as has been said, like new. I have also had very good service from this centre on a Seamaster AT. Only one minor point, the service centre is in Eastleigh not Southampton, it’s a couple of miles from where I live. We have to stick up for Eastleigh whenever we can!! It’s usually ignored, the same with the airport which is called Southampton, but is in Eastleigh. It was called Eastleigh Aerodrome when the first Spitfire flew from there in the 1930’s. Our other claim to fame apart from the railway works is that it was the home of the Gordon Keeble.

I know Eastleigh well, my father used to fly from Eastleigh to Jersey every 4 weeks for work, he was a rep and Jersey was part of his region, I have to apologise for the faux pas on location but in my defence the receipt from Omega states Southampton, sorry :)

With luck I will still be around in 30 years, if so I will let you know how it looks. :D

It looks great and this certainly helps me relax a little as my 2254.50 is in for service. I have you beat though, my watch was purchased new in 2009.
