Baby Flightmaster ref 166.090 Date Disk question

Hello Everyone,

New to this forum and is my first post here.

I am restoring a Baby Flightmaster and need to replace the date disk as it is damaged beyond use. I have purchased the 1580 disk, but it was not the correct disk as the blanks between the dates show up in the dial window, instead of the date.

Does anyone have a reference lookup to verify the part number I need? I believe it is the 1589 (which has the teeth offset compared to the 1580/1582 disks). But I want to verify if that is the correct part and not something else wrong with my movement or how I have reassembled the calendar works. It is the first time I have worked on a caliber 1002 movement.

Yes, that is the one that I got brand new sealed original Omega part. The blank shows up in the window. Dunno why, but it does. I ordered an 1589 and I believe it’ll work, but I’m surprised the 1580 doesnt seem to be the correct one.

The previous owner soaked the movement in some sort of oil which removed all the numbering on the date wheel so I couldn’t use it as a reference. But my original date wheel had larger physical outside diameter than the new 1580.

Unfortunately there was no way to compare. The numbering was all gone off the original. There is a difference in physical dimension between my original and new 1580, which is a sealed brand new original Omega part.

The original was not plastic, but brass.

I figured out what the problem was. The company I ordered the date wheel sent me one for a cal 560 which has the teeth offset. So yea, I received the wrong 1580 and didnt notice until I rechecked the part number I received (72205601580).
