I'm no expert, but that case looks incredibly soft and well polished for being a "NOS" watch. Additionally where did the crud inside of the 8 come from if it is NOS?

This is one on ebay that also proclaims to be NOS, but it looks it to my eye - that case is sharp enough to shave with:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Extremely-...=item23b3598739:g:TncAAOSwhexcNL2~:rk:26:pf:0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

These examples seem to be far above where the market for Buren watches normally is. Like 10X over.

    This could be helpful:

Here something about the history of the Buren Watch Company in Büren an der Aare, Switzerland
The watch factory Buren AG (Buren Watch Company) has an eventful history and unfortunately no longer exists. Who wants to know it exactly can read the whole story in the book Die Geschichte der Uhrmacherei in Büren / Switzerland (Callwey Verlag, Hans Kocher, ISBN 3-7667-1031-1).
The name of the company is taken from the place where she was at home. It is Büren an der Aare in Switzerland.
At first, however, the company was called F. Sutter & Co. Customers were mainly English and so the company was taken over by H. Williamson Ltd. in 1898. During this time, the company produced mainly pocket watches, although the company was not particularly influenced by its headquarters in England.
Due to the stock market crash, H. Williamson Ltd. was so badly affected that it had to go into liquidation. A group of Swiss and an Englishman procured the necessary capital and the company could continue to develop and manufacture watches under Swiss management and the new name Uhrenfabrik Buren AG.
Besides many groundbreaking developments of the Uhrenfabrik Buren AG, I would like to mention the - also for me most important - one: The microrotor movement Caliber 1000 . The first automatic movement in the world with a rotor in the movement level. This was patented in 1954. It was just 4.2mm high. The watch factory Buren AG built it into their own watches called Buren Super Slender. Dugena built the movement into the watches with the designation Dugena Super.
The further development was then the Caliber Buren-Intramatic
In 1966 the watch factory Buren AG was sold to the Hamilton Watch Company. After it was taken over by the SSIH in 1971, the Uhrenfabrik Buren AG came to an end and had to go into liquidation in 1972.
Against the background of the many innovations that Uhrenfabrik Buren AG has produced, it is a real pity that such a company no longer exists today.
Today, the brand name is owned by the Schweizer Uhren Edition, which again produces watches under this label. Partly with old movements, partly with ETA movements.

Buren was also a partner with Heuer and Breitling in development of the Chronomatic movements using their Intramatic movement as the base. A good write-up including more information on Buren is here http://www.onthedash.com/docs/Project99.html

the reason why i bought buren watches is that it has good reputation in making its movement especially being part of the development of cal.11.

    here is waterman and grandprix.

Just out of curiosity the first 3 I can understand. Banned members, some rather dubious dealings, a nutter, paperclips, caseback openers etc. What's up with the last one?

Here is my Super Slender with the date microrotor.
It’s my 2nd watch the other one is straight lugs.
I like this brand because of its will of innovation. Buren was in competition with UG for the patent of the first microrotor movement.
