The Hornet is just pitching up to barrel over the formation in a pitch to landing.

That shot reminds me of the time I saw one tied up in the roof of an old hangar at Bankstown airport in the late 1960s.
I think it was owned by Sid Marshall at the time. There was also something else up there but I can't remember what it was, I was too fascinated by the 109.
