Hello,

I was checking out this Avia watch, but I wonder if the dial is reprinted?

What do you think?

And if it's original, what is a normal price for one of these?

Thanks,

It's an obscure brand, so I don't know if you find great comparisons. It could well be original, but there are some odd things about the dial. For example, there appear to be small circles at 3-6-9-12 where perhaps lume was removed, in which case the hands are not original. Also, I'm finding the date circle very strange. Usually, the 1st day of the month is near the top, here it is at 9, and some of the numbers are entirely upside-down. As a result, 6 and 9 look exactly the same, which is ridiculous.

Importantly, the lugs have severe brassing. Overall, I would not buy this watch.

I thought as much. Looked a bit odd and I didn't notice the date starting at 9.

Thanks for the help, very appreciated.

This is not a brand that is massively appreciated so for a redial it would not be a wise proposition. The Avia logo did look like that in early models but I think it’s a little thick. The other redial clues have already been pointed out.
