    Hah that's awesome!
And yeah the rotary never really took off here...
And the RENESIS motor in the RX-8 made the rotary seem like a terrible engine.
But, I guess it sort of was lol.
Under-powered, crap fuel mileage, and would flood if you turned the car off before it was up to temperature!
But all those things aside it was soooo smooth.
Once you got it above 3k RPM it was hard to not run it out to the 9k redline.
Here is one of the only pictures I have of it...

Tein coilovers, HKS exhaust, and the Rays GramLights.
When I moved for college I traded it in for an Audi A4.
That was 10 years ago now....damn!

I finally came around and cleaned my MGA, first time I tried a waterless cleaning solution, worked quite well. Afterwards I took her for a little spin. Speedy was the watch of choice that day of course ;). The watch and car are only 10 years apart. 59-69.

I’m enjoying the posts in this thread very much :).
    Very nice RX7 project!

A japanese sports car from the 90’s-00‘s is high on my list atm. Honda NSX comes to mind, but I‘d have to sell the MGA to fund it, and it’s to damn beautifully to let it go.

Have a great Weekend OF, and drive safely!

If you can find one (difficult) have a go in a Honda CRX #2 - it's just like driving a high-powered go kart! I bought one long ago for my wife, but eldest son commandeered it sharpish, swopping a (sensible young person's car) Vauxhall Nova. Mrs B was a self-less angel!

Ah yes I remember those! There used to be two in my old neighborhood back in the 90‘s. They looked and sounded like fun! I‘m also considering a mark II Toyota MR2. I had my eyes set on one as my first car back in the day, but my parents intervened, and I believe in hindsight now it was the better decision to go with something more sensible haha.

Here’s a few of my recent cars, just let go of the blue Impreza three weeks ago, after having owned it for 5 years. Beautiful motor, with a fully built engine putting out 510bhp. Upgraded and improved polly bushings in the chassis and adjustable coilovers. The Audi I sold earlier this year and am now saving up for either an E63S AMG or an Audi RS6 to be bought in 2020.

That’s what I’m talking about. The Impreza must’ve been a rush to drive.

The Impreza was really a thrill to drive, it was hard to keep speed limits, since the sound was Mmmmmm
60-120 (mph) was covered in sub 7sec and it could corner too.
In a way I regret selling it, but being able to put less than 2000km/year or just above 1200Miles... Well better let someone enjoy it, as it should be enjoyed :)

I currently have another project car that I am working on, that will include a 5cyl Volvo engine putting out between 600-650bhp, however in a completely different shell ;)

Thank you Darlinboy for your thumbs up :)

    All the best //

Nice. I had one of the first RX-8's to hit the States - preordered the day they started taking them. Winning Blue, just like yours. It was nice to get back into a "chook cooker" (Aussie slang - rotary...rotisserie...chicken roaster...chook cooker). Unfortunately I got laid off only a few months later and had to get rid of it, but even that turned out OK. If you recall, Mazda had been caught "stretching the truth" about gas mileage, so they offered all current owners the option of free maintenance for the life of the warranty, or you could return the car for a full and complete refund. I reluctantly returned mine, and got back every penny I had spent on lease payments - effectively I had had a free rental almost a year.

A couple of years later we bought another - Velocity Red this time - for my wife, who drove it until she decided she wanted an Infiniti. Silly girl, but what are you gonna do, right?

As for the RX-8's infamous flooding problem, we never had an issue with it in nearly three years of cumulative ownership, with one single exception - the day we were to turn in the second one at the end of its lease, I backed it out of our garage and turned it off as I always had, and when we went to drive it to the dealership, it steadfastly refused to start. To this day I still think it was moping rather than flooded, but it left our driveway on a flat bed truck. :(

Now my RX-3 race car with it's bridgeported 13B and Weber 48IDA carb? That bitch would flood quicker than look at you if you didn't start it *just right*. I never had a problem because I knew the intricacies, but whenever I had to leave it at a shop for any extended period, I would have to tell them to push it around the shop and not try to take it for a test drive. But sure enough, I had to rescue it several times from shops that thought they knew better.
