@vbrad26 , @tikkathree the blue car was at the local Porsche dealership for the 70th anniversary celebration. Ruf BTR but up specced. It's finally for sale after a restoration/refit, I have been watching this car for the last three years as it has come together as a labor of love by the general manager. Apparently a great value and will stay so. Certainly drivable on track or highway. NOT a plan for city or daily use. Heaviest clutch I have ever tried. I would need a different seat....needs to be lower so my head doesn't bounce on the roll cage and a little wider. Of course this is included in purchase price.

this was also there.....similar price but depreciates with every mile on the road...so un-drivable for a different reason allNgJbMRd2E%UT1WF7UsQ.jpg k%w5lUcmSNO4NZ4FEoiZaQ.jpg +YHYZNrSSBKdddYoDKn0ng.jpg

Fantastic - I love Porsches in their own right, but your pics are all the better for the company (special(e)) that Turbo is keeping!

Very pleasant to see again now - but drove us mad back then here in the UK as we did a conversion to RHD at our Import Centre and after that in one of these you had to plan your braking a quarter mile in advance! Then, after a crop of growing, understandable, complaints from owners . . . we found that the original drawings for the conversion had been 'lost.' Happily, when the E9 arrived, Munich made RHDs at the Factory.

Collection day for several lucky owners, and where else to test this than out on a former F1 track?

well what do you know @vbrad26!......that's the car in my pics. I went and bought a lottery ticket as that is the only way the funds will appear in my account.

I have however made some space should I win.....not sure if it's the same blue

I don't THINK it will hit "reserve not met" but part of me wouldn't be surprised if it did.
The air-cooled market is so fickle right now, as far as "modified" examples go.
Most people willing to pay big bucks are looking for all original cars.
Then, you get stuff like this where someone has obviously dumped a lot of money into the car and then tries to capitalize on the rising values.
Sometimes it works out...but sometimes it doesn't.

Me personally? I love stuff like this.
I would much rather spend (just for example) $100k for this instead of $100k for an original 930 or 964 Turbo.
But I think a lot of people would think the opposite of me...

I am with you on this, and for watches too (about half of my speedmasters have been helped with modern/supercharged parts). As we see on other parts of the board a very different approach to say...2915s. Where the BTR was hanging around there were a few people who own these immaculate 930s/964turbos, trailered and rolled in when they want to be shown, and chatting with their owners, every mile on the odometer drops their value. No mention of what a rock chip would do:eek:

now if you had around $70k to add to your number I think you would be above the line......
