The Muira is beyond grail (and, alas, beyond reach) Unquestionably the most beautiful thing ever to grace a road.
Last pictures of the SL with the 5MPH U.S. bumpers, will be installing Euro bumpers tomorrow or Wednesday. These pictures show just how ridiculous the U.S. bumpers really are! I'll post some after pics when done. Or @styggpyggeno1 could just post pictures of his nice ride to show difference!
Picking up my baby while it’s Grand Dad was ending bidding on BAT. 70k for e9’s!!! Missed that boat. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-bmw-3-0cs-10/
Not my cars or my pictures but the lowest car ever made? Probe 16 - as used in "A Clockwrok Orange" and its "big" brother -- the Probe 2001 on the beach at Barassie, Scotland 1971 I had the pleasure of sitting in this 2001 at the tender age of 11, back in 1971. I've never forgotten the experience....
So finally finished the Euro bumper conversion on the 450SL... Got old bumpers off the car... All the parts for the bumpers... And the finished product... Comparing old with new... Took 18 inches off the length of the car and 50+ pounds! (Edit: took 12 inches off length of car.) Forty-four years old and she hasn't turned 72K miles yet... And while I was taking pictures got a phone call on cell through new sound system, very cool! Still have some minor adjusting to do on the bumpers and think I'm going to move front indicators a little but that's all for another day.
Oh yeah! You did well Hijak! The old "bureaucratic" bumpers were so much baggage. Your SL looks so much nicer now.
What a difference! She's looking great after that - an absolutely classic looking car, and back in proper spec (sorry, being in Europe that's how I'm used to seeing them!). The 71k on the clock is the full mileage of the car? It fits with the excellent condition, but seems really low.
What a difference! That is how it was designed to look. What a relief it must be for the old (but still very beautiful) Lady (Mercedes is a womans name).
