Here are a few that I took from the first round of the 2017 FIA WEC championship at Silverstone last month. The Aston Martin Vantage GTE is such a stunning looking car, and the ByKolles is striking in the Grey and Yellow livery - such a shame the rumours are it won't see the season out :(

Here's some rare ones I've come across over the past few years.

1 picture is easy the other three have 4 true automotive unicorns.

Exactly 55 years ago... French Matra launched the Matra Djet, probably the world's first mid-engined production road car
    ;)
    Yuri Gagarin got one:

Good offering Phil (though Yuri rather spoils the visual indulgence aspect) - the Matras of the late sixties/early seventies were special - particularly the MS10/11 and MS120 F1 cars and the Sports Prototypes, MS600 series; these featured the fabulously noisy Georges Martin V12 engine . . . and here's another, more recent, lump that has me drooling:

How could anyone forget the Group B craziness of the 1980s?

    Thanks for the memory!

Found this piece of history hiding behind the bench grinder and so I present your two lessons for today.

Lesson One: It is indeed possible to take a mid seventies Corvette 350 well past 7000rpm

    Lesson Two: only once.

this connecting rod and wrist pin were found under said Corvette, embedded in the asphalt, after the event. The oil pump it passed though while vacating the premises was never found.

to make up for the above very upsetting images, may I present a warm and fuzzy fuel injected Vespa

Never heard of 1/8 mile drag races. What speeds do you reach? What gear?

Quite a bit of a story in europe. Biggest events is www.glemseck101.de beside this, we tacing in two classes www.sultansofsprint.com with the bike shown above (a real fromer police bike bmw rt 80, we added fuel, injextion, supercharger and NOS system) a kidnof european championship. Second class is www.essenza-the-essence-of-motorcycles.com (a mixture of design challenge and sprint races) with this bike and our lady pilot amy. IMG_8848.JPG Speed is at about 160km/h at finish line. If you google "polizia uno" and "eddie 21" you will find loads of pics showingnthe mood of this vintage drag racing.
