I used to go every year. Saw the flying Mercs. Same as everything else, It aint wot it used to be. I can't imagine a 911 driver spinning off the track during practice, then walking over and asking for a sip of my beer and a cigarette these days.
It's definitely on my list of things to do before I die Saw the last year of the C5-R at Lime Rock in 2004, then the first year of the C6.R the next, I've been following the Pratt & Miller Corvette team since its inception in 98-99 and can't wait to see them race against the new Fords this year!
One of several Lotus, yes we all know what Lotus stands for that I owned in the dim and distant past and could possibly meet the standards of the o.p. Wheeling out a couple relatives for lunch at "Gleneagles" and yes I can sometimes be a bit of a crawler Touring Europe with my dearly beloved, Can you see it ???

Spotted this several years ago in France, it must be an age thing but I was taken with it No I wasn't visiting the "Optique"
Started up the CTS-V while I was home on R&R after she had an 8-month slumber.... ....after a quick rinse..... ....also....had the wife's Eskie detailed....
Thank you all for sharing your pics and stories. I've always wanted to hit the Nurburgring, and I should have when I spent some years in the UK. Now, it is just too expensive! Anyway, for the folks who celebrate the Lunar New year, Gong Hei Fatt Choy! Wishing all an auspicious year of the Fire Monkey!
I've had the great pleasure and privilege of getting to lay down both tire and sneaker rubber on the Nordschleife:
