I used to have a VW type 3 fastback.... VW couldn't match any of the brake parts until we started looking into 914 parts.... then it all fit together perfectly...... Go figure!
Unlike a lot of sports cars, the GT-R is very stable at high speed over imperfect roads - it was tuned for the Nurburgring Nordschleife. With stock power of 550hp I've had it up to 138mph on a road course. Double and triple stock power is possible but traction becomes an issue.
Some years ago, I actually ran this thing down that same track as that GT-R used, clocking a much more leisurely 15.73 seconds at 89.8 mph.
At the Nurburg ring one of the few places the full potential of the car can be used including launch control !!! OmegaSean
I remember taking one of those for a test drive, 0-60 took about an hour if I remember correctly. An hour later I took one of Fiats little coupe's out for a test and bought it on the spot. Chalk and cheese different.
Back in the olden days I once left my office in the bank and went out and repo'ed a Yugo. That Datsun sorta reminds me of it. As I'm a fairly big ol' boy, I drove the wretched thing back to the bank with my knees on either side of my ears.
