I'm a sucker for the Mk II Cortina, but I had a Mk I so I may be a little biased. 😀

I am with you on this, and for watches too (about half of my speedmasters have been helped with modern/supercharged parts). As we see on other parts of the board a very different approach to say...2915s. Where the BTR was hanging around there were a few people who own these immaculate 930s/964turbos, trailered and rolled in when they want to be shown, and chatting with their owners, every mile on the odometer drops their value. No mention of what a rock chip would do😲

now if you had around $70k to add to your number I think you would be above the line......

"Sold On 7/9/18 For $135,000"

I think that is a good sell and a good buy.
That car was certainly done right.

Excellent.....🙁 that was almost within reach. I would have needed to start working out to use the clutch without being an idiot, and I guess I can put the daily drivers back into the garage.

I've always liked the idea of built not bought. And I always told myself that 1 day I want to take a car and start fresh. The build has taken 2 years so far, it's still not complete but it's pretty damn close!

Started off as a very faded red with an engine bay that looked like it hadn't seen love in a very very long time

So when the engine blew after a fee hundred miles I took the opportunity to strip it, respray the car and upgrade/restore every part I put my hands on

Car has been painted in a very deep purple which I doubt my dodgy pictures do it any justice

Fully rebuilt and balanced engine with lightened rotors, single turbo conversion, standalone ecu etc. Everything power related has been upgraded with some of the best parts currently available.

Still bedding in the new engine before it can go for tuning and get the boost turned up 😀

Like I said though, it's not finished... But I'm getting there slowly 😀

Yesterday, at Goodwood House, England (home of the Goodwood Festival of Speed) - members of the Goodwood Road Racing Club have a members open day every year, where entertainment is laid on and generally everyone rocks up, picnic on the lawn etc, and 50 or so members cars are selected for display around the carriage circle.

Sadly, it rained most of the afternoon so the turnout was low, but the show cars were still there...

Lovely Ferrari 250 GT Lusso in silver...

and that's my little Honda Insight ...

I'm a rotorhead from way back. Used to race RX-3's Down Under, and had a 1st gen RX-7 as a daily driver. Rotaries have a much larger following in Oz and NZ than here in the States.

Hah that's awesome!
And yeah the rotary never really took off here...
And the RENESIS motor in the RX-8 made the rotary seem like a terrible engine.
But, I guess it sort of was lol.
Under-powered, crap fuel mileage, and would flood if you turned the car off before it was up to temperature!
But all those things aside it was soooo smooth.
Once you got it above 3k RPM it was hard to not run it out to the 9k redline.
Here is one of the only pictures I have of it...

Tein coilovers, HKS exhaust, and the Rays GramLights.
When I moved for college I traded it in for an Audi A4.
That was 10 years ago now....damn!
