Hello Guys Im really sorry to bother u with this, but a friend of mine bought a 18k Speedmaster and when he showed me this (bad) pics i think its a fake. He cant see any serial no on the movement... I also havent seen a rotor like that before. What is up and down in this? Plz help us out. Thanks
I tried looking up that model online, but without luck. The rotor doesn't seem to have the perlage finish I'd expect to find there, and the caseback seems a bit crude. The dial looks fine, however. There have been a host of different Speedmaster Reduced over the years, so I can't say for sure...
I agree with @ConElPueblo . I can find that exact dial and hand set on many stainless watches. I found one identical example labeled as a 175.0032 http://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/speedmaster-18t-gold-or--id3262136.htm While the caseback looks substandard the markings on the inside lead me to think its legit. I've heard rumors of casebacks like these for various purposes but not normally sold to the public. The movement seems oddly unadorned esp with the caseback. Though there are matching examples out there of that movement. http://watchguy.co.uk/service-omega-speedmaster-calibre-1140-dubois-depraz-3220-with-eta-2890-2/ :edit: And one sample of the case back http://m.ebay.com/itm/OMEGA-18K-YEL...UTOMATIC-WATCH-BA1750032-C-1986-/182251689047Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network If you Google "ba1750032" you can find a bunch of these with some different colored dials. I'd say legit.
It's all legit. This is probably the crudest movement Omega ever used based on the ETA 2892 platform - it even has a nickel gilt balance, which is unusual as most are Glucydur. Case back looks exactly like it should, dial is a known variant for this model, which is a Ref. 31122000 I believe. Cheers, Al
