First post on the forum. I recently purchased an Omega Planet Ocean ref. 2500.00 from Chrono24. I believe its authentic it comes w box and papers and the buyer answered all my questions. However, I'd like some peace of mind. I will be taking it into an Omega boutique to be authenticated.

The most common signs of counterfeit POs from that generation are incorrect placement of the He valve, and the bezel lume plot not sitting squarely within the triangle.

 

He valve and lume pip are correct.

AR coating and caseback appear consistent with earlier production of this watch.

In the C24 photos there is an Omega service watch holder. Did the watch receive Omega service at some time? did you get a copy of the service paperwork? There is a photo of timegrapher print out, but I believe it is dated 2018. Saw there are some loose links, I don't know how many links are in a full bracelet. Did you verify you have all the links? The pictogram card has a different color background than the other two cards. Usually the are all the same color white or yellow. May depend on the market it was originally sold, the Instruction books can be red or have the omega balance spring on the cover.

 

Thanks for the response! The watch was serviced in 2017 I received the paperwork as per your suggestion. There are extra links in the box. The pictogram card is the only thing I'm bothered by but I'm hoping its nothing major.
