Authenticity check?

Any thoughts on the authenticity of this Seamaster GMT? Serial number is in tact. I’m not sure if there is a great way to look it up, but just wanted to send it out to the group here and see.

I agree with @nicolamilton , especially in the video posted I don't see anything that looks outright wrong. However, if I was planning on purchasing this I would absolutely require better pictures. If the seller isn't willing to do that, it opens up the possibility of other concerns anyway.

80% likely legit to me.

Does anything stand out to you? Can I run the serial through Omega to confirm? He has seller feedback on eBay but not with watches (other collectibles)

I'm not going to click on links, but if you're worried about it being a total counterfeit, eBay authentication will probably be sufficient to sort that out for a modern watch.

There is no way for you personally to look up a serial number, but there are some people on the forum who have access to Omega's system and might do it for you if you post the number. Of course, counterfeit watches also have serial numbers.

Ultimately, if you don't trust your ability to distinguish an authentic watch, you should probably buy from a seller that you trust more.

Please post photos not links. BTW, it appears the seller is uploading screenshots and not actual photos. Hence the white bar along the bottom of the first and second photos.

Apologies - those are my screen shots. He sent me a verification picture with the watch, date, and his eBay username, along with my phone number (we’ve been texting). I took a screen shot so I didn’t post my phone number over the web!

If the seller is uploading screenshots and not actual photos, that opens the door to a myriad of other slight concerns. If they have eBay feedback and the eBay feedback is good, and this is listed on eBay and the pictures are available there, why not share the images directly from there? It's weird that they would share screenshots of pictures as opposed to just pictures.

If I were purchasing this through eBay and the seller had good positive feedback, I would be fairly confident that any issues would be caught by the authenticators and I would buy the seller. If they are trying to sell it off of eBay with screenshots, that's a whole other matter

Download the photo to your phone and then reshare here using add photos.

The screenshots are my doing. Here are the raw photos except the one he sent with my info that I screen shot.

If you have to ask these questions, is it not better to just buy the watch from a reputable dealer?

It’s my first Omega, and although I’m 99% sure it’s fine (I’ve bought and sold over 100 watches on WUS and Reddit) I figured I’d post it here since Omega is not my speciality. I was hoping some folks could chime in on their opinions. Seller seems legit, no red flags. PayPal G&S, everything is above board. Just wanted some eyes on the actual watch.

What if that serial number on the counterfeit watch matches in the database? Does that mean it’s real?

You are responding to a year and a half Old Post and somebody else has provided an answer to your question in another thread. Can you help me with your thought process here?
