I’m looking for a new-ish watch for a daily wearer and have narrowed it down to a late 5 digit Sub or a new Explorer 1.

Ive got this Sub in my watch list ending tonight. 2012 Sub Date from original owner, who says its unpolished and never serviced. I’m thinking of putting a bid in later but would appreciate any thoughts from those who are more experienced with Rolex.

The pictures aren’t great but from what I can see (side profile, logo on bracelet, lug etc), the unpolished claim looks about right.

The full set is a nice touch as well.

Sold for £6600.

That seems reasonable to me for a 2012 with box and papers. Have I missed any issues?

Since the auction ended I’ve spoken to the seller as the buyer didn’t complete. I’m now in discussions to buy this for the auction end price.

I’m sure I’ll be able to tell for myself by checking the engraving on the rehaut, between the lugs and general quality, but from these pictures does anyone have any concerns over the authenticity or any other comments?

the watch pictured looks fine, but then again it's a common watch and pictures are easy to get. I think your main focus at this point should be on the seller and whether you feel comfy he is going to indeed be sending you the watch pictured.
