    Hi friends,

I've been lurking on this site for a bit but I am otherwise a newbie to vintage omegas. I am just about to graduate law school and want to get myself a solid gold vintage omega as a graduation gift.

I found this 14k Omega Seamaster De Ville on eBay, cal. 550 that I really like. I believe it is from 1965 based on the movement serial of "22192404". It says LL6590-1 and Ross on the case back so I assume it's cased in the US. The serial number under LL6590-1 looks really strange, as the second "8" in "4445882" is droopy. The Omega Watch Co logo also doesn't look very clear.

What do you all think? Is this watch authentic? The seller is asking $1400 CAD or $971.70 USD. Is this a good price?

    Thanks for the help!

    It's authentic.
    It has been badly polished.
It is badly in need of a service (regulator position).
It has (or has had) a rotor bushing/axle problem.
It is very expensive for what it is.
    It's not a good buy.
