    Hi,
while reading in the Watches-parts-for-sale section, I asked myself whether my no.6 end link is authentic?
(It was on a vintage speedmaster, which came not from the no. 6 age) Maybe someone has an opinion? I just want to make sure it´s ok before offering / trading it.

Can you show the underside from different angles?

I'll preface this by saying that I'm not an expert, and many things have surprised me along this journey, but I think one of the tell tale signs of 'real' #6 end links is the ridged lines on the underside.. like this:

Yes, I also noticed that detail.
I think l´ll better keep this one as a replacement for my future 105.003 :)

If somebody forged or counterfeited your link they did a good job. #6 links are a B!+(# to remove and yours appears to be slightly bent (and scratched?) like it has been removed a time or two.

Wait, no impression on the underside of his end piece. Now I'm confused.

My #6's have the impression marks on the undersides.

Over the years and well before the fakes came out I have seen several number 6 end pieces without the impression on the underside, so a lack of impression is not a tell tale sight of a fake end piece.

These came off the same watch which has been in the same family since new, it was serviced way back in 1982.
To get the end pieces off of the watch I had to open the bracelet ends because the spring bars were not going anywhere as they were full of corrosion and too long.

To add to this - I was perusing the thread before getting home to open up another Speedy incoming with its 7912. This made me curious, so I got all six of my #6 end links out. All three straight lugs came with their original bracelets. The #6's from my 2998-62 and 105.003-64 have the grooves, while my 105.003-65 is flat.

I should have put these chronologically, but from top-to-bottom, these match up with my 105.003-64, 105.003-65, and 2998-62
