Authentic 1950s Automatic Seamaster?

Hi all!
I'm a new poster, but have been lurking around here for some time as I find these forums indespensable for advice on vintage Omegas.

That said, I'm in the market for a new timepiece and have come across this fixer upper. Keeping in mind the missing second hand, does this item pass an authenticity test, and it is worth purchasing for servicing and restoration? It is being sold as a 50s Seamaster, although the dial isn't signed and I'm still waiting on confirmation of the reference number.

Appreciate any feedback you can provide.

A money pit that will never look original no matter how much you spend.
