Just got this pre order via email today. The bezel and insert looks a lot better than the bulbous insert design of Heuer Autavia reissue and the orange highlights homage to the " Orange Boy" looks sharp to my eyes. A bit tempted.
Yeah, I saw that as well and was very tempted. But it still has the same thickness issue as the current Autavia collection. And that bracelet is too blingy in person, in my opinion.
I picked up the Autavia Jo Siffer Calibre 11 piece but ended up selling it as I never wore it and just didn't feel right on my skinny wrists but I do like the look of this and almost pulled the trigger again. Guess just not for me
Tag needs to work on their case thickness I believe. I just couldn’t add any of their good looking vintage reissued watches just because they look so heavy and weird on wrist due to thick case.
The thickness really is an issue - I bought the Siffert too and don't know how long I'll keep it - the dial is truly beautiful and I like looking at it / wearing it around the house, but it's just too chunky and blingy for me to feel very comfortable wearing out. As for this one, I do like the tachymeter bezel and wish it had come on the Siffert. The dial also looks nice, with the orange accents playing very well with the aged-looking lume. Since this one's not a limited edition though, I'll take some time to think about it before pre-ordering or not...
1163 is super nice watch, but the only thing is you need to keep the chrono running in order to tell if its going or not....
Totally agree on the size issue, particularly with that thickness. I furthermore question the value retention on these "special editions" (and for any modern Heuer for that matter).
