Hi guys,

Given that the forum seems to be about 99% male, it’s fair to say that most of us have a passing interest in men’s health, and are aware of the work that the Movember foundation do to promote, educate and fund various good causes, not to mention the whole growing a moustache, looking like Magnum P.I. thing.

As well as the great charities they support who are involved in researching the causes of cancer, and treating/support victims, Movember is involved in raising funds and awareness of mental health issues and suicide prevention amongst men.

If you haven't read it, and would like a window into how tough it can be, @X350 XJR post Because we need to talk about it post, and the comments in the thread are an eye opening read.

In support of those chaps who have dealt with, and are dealing with the Big C, and of those who struggle with mental health issues, I'm handing over my face for the month of November, having my beard shaved off on the 1st, and then attempting to grow out the best Tom Selleck moustache I can over the next 30 days.

The thing I'm most worried about, is not the moustache, but looking like a 15 year old, and getting ID'd for beer until the stubble has grown out.

If you would like to support this endeavour, and see me looking like even more of an idiot than normal, please head to my donation page here: https://mobro.co/tyrantlizardrex

For those who I've not met, and don't know what my face looks like, here's how most of the people I know are used to seeing it:

And here's how it looked the last time I got talked into doing this:

If anyone wants to lend me a Hawaiian shirt, a Rolex GMT and a Ferrari that would be awesome.

Cheers

Chris

Congrats on your journey, and a worthy cause. Free mustache tip: to go full Magnum, no hair South of the corners of the lips:

Harder than the 308 Ferrari and a 1675?

I guess those are just both a case of having buckets of cash? 😁

I'll be rocking a swatch and sitting on a bus.

Good luck! I wish I could grow a mustache, but too many Native genes in my pool to grow decent facial hair.

Thanks for the moral support gents!

I'll post up pictures tomorrow after my friendly barber has done the deed, and de-bearded me!

If anyone is able to/want to donate to the cause, you can do so on my Movember fundraising page here: https://mobro.co/tyrantlizardrex

Thanks to @ahartfie for being my first supporter! 😀

I’d love to join in on the Movember fun, but this happens to be the one month I actually need all my facial hair. I have a multi-day gig coming up as an extra in a rather large Viking movie production, and my beard is very likely the only reason they chose me 😁

Good luck with this admirable cause!

Sadly, decent facial hair has always eluded me. But if there's ever a Month recognising "Arse That Looks Like It Should Belong To A Gorilla", I'm in... 😁

Amazing as those shirts sold out years ago... but although getting 55 I'm still amazed "youngsters" like the 1980s series 😉
Looking forward to the full-picture of this initiative !

Stage one is complete: getting served alcohol will be challenging...
