Does anyone else check out APOD every day. Some amazing pictures, great information and helps keep life/earth in perspective...…

I have it installed on all my PC's but now it only works with my work's PC and they are going to stop us having a personalized desktop soon

It is just a webpage with an archive and jpeg files so it should display on most OS / browsers plus it works on ipads etc. I would clear your history on any PC / browser and try again.

I have had a telescope for a couple months now, so far I have only looked at the moon, Jupiter and Saturn. I still find incredible, next to try and tackle is being able to take pictures of what I see. I am using a Bresser 80mm 900.

Cool stuff. I’ll try to keep the mention of religion brief as I don’t want to start a problem but I was reading a book by pope Benedict where he wrote to say we are the only planet with life in the universe is putting a limit on gods creative ability which we as humans can’t comprehend.

He then went on to say if we are the only beings in this vast universe think of how precious life is and how we will kill one another over a dollar.

Pictures like this remind me how massive “space” is and imo there must be other life out there but darn if there isn’t we (many of us) don’t have a lot of respect for it.

Ok sorry not trying to start a religious thing I just read a lot and that always stuck with me it’s purely an example and not meant to offend those offended by religion.

Deep thoughts from the pope.
