Few days ago I came across this picture on the internet: I thought it was quite funny, though not really accurate. Sure there's plenty room for discussion, but in my opinion Rolex should be paired with Porsche. The recognizable design which slowly alters over time and the reliability are the main reasons for this association i guess. I started to think a bit more about these associations between watch brands and car brands, so I made my own list! This list is entirely discutabel, these are the associations for me! Like Longines and Fiat: Rich history where the modern models can't keep up with (oops). What do you think? I was finding a brand for Ferrari, but couldn't think of one. Also wanted to pair Breguet and Cartier, but couldn't find a suitable car brand for them.
Well, they nailed me with the Omega = Volvo. That being said, Omega also = Porsche. The Aston Martin could be Panerai, as they have strong ties in this area to an Italian restaurant where the owner wears nothing but Panerai.
Because of their collaboration? I’d put Breitling with other big, powerful and rough models, like Dodge!
I have a Sprint Blue RS4 with matching Gemini IV Speedmaster. Will see if I have any decent pictures of my car....
Also, what bout Blancpain and the somewhat similar Breguet...Rolls Royce for them as well, perhaps? Or am I shooting too high? Full disclosure - I own a Blancpain.
I was thinking for Blancpain as well, but couldn’t think of any car close to it! Has to be rich of history, useful car but still elegant... Rolls Royce comes close though, but maybe more like Aston Martin? Don’t know yet.
If Rolex = Porsche, possibly 911 Turbo Tudor = Caymen S Both great watch manufacturers and fun cars in there own right But if you own a Caymen your neighbour will always ask.... Couldn't you afford a 911
No alfa romeo association? Also g-shock would go with dodge un my opinion, American trucks and oversized muscle cars.
There is an association with Frederique Constant and Austin-Healey: Frederique Constant celebrates the memory of the Austin Healey sports cars by adding new models to its Vintage Rally collection Also . . . Christopher Ward with Morgan:
This is when I really miss Dennis! He'd go ballistic on this one.... (Going ballistic, Maverick! play the Top Gun theme here!) No offense intended, to each his own, but he focused on the horology. Us old-timers have seen this a few dozen, doesn't mean you have. Cheers!
You guys can’t even get the “official” marketing tie-ins correct. Breitling goes with Bentley. Jaeger-LeCoultre goes with Aston Martin. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.fo...ger-lecoultre-amvox2-transponder-returns/amp/ The rest of this is pretty much meaningless. Except for the @Joe_A post. gatorcpa
