    There was a similar article published several years ago that focused on independent watchmakers who were trained in Cuba but stayed independent once coming the to the US.

    Now, many of the next generation of watchmakers are being snapped up by the big watch company as in-house watchmakers.

    Just one more sign that it's going to become very difficult to find good independent watchmakers in the future, when the current crop retire.

    So very true - good independent watchmakers are becoming harder and harder to locate. It is truly a vanishing profession.

    Thank you for the aforementioned posts, awesome story for Cubans and Cuban - Americans of which I am one! Great reason to buy a Breitling although I already have one, so I can buy a second vintage Omega instead! lol
