    Hello respectable members.

Just thought I'd share a few potential watches (Or possible movers) I won recently that might go in the collection. It is still early days and I haven't received the watches yet so I am taking huge gamble here...

    NO MOVEMENT PICS

The first lot aren't particulary rare but compared to the condition of most of the watches in the auction they were fantastic. I chose them on general condition and also if I feel they could be sold on..

The first is a Seamaster with Black dial and sub-seconds.

The back of this looks quite nice.

No idea yet about the bracelet but as you can see it's not looking too healthy! :(

The next watch is a textured dial with + crosshair..which I like alot.

There's a nice ageing to the dial and it looks fairly clean from the picture.

Sadly the back has been engraved..

The next to I have no experience with at all...I've never done the Rolex thing but I fancied something vintage and at the price couldn't resist, they will probably need alot of work doing, internally and externally...but, hey-ho!

    23-20121219142749_original.jpg

An Oysterdate precision from the 50's, think it has a green second hand, the crown looks original, the dial has an even patina imo. Case could do with a good clean on this one. This was one of those, whoops, have I made the right decision here..?!

    23-1-20121219151036_468x382.jpg

The next is a black dial..
    22-20121219142657_original.jpg

well, technically it's very dark blue..
    22-1-2012121915925_468x382.jpg

There are a few more pictures of two more watches but I couldn't obtain the pictures as I couldn't get to that part of the website,

Would be interested to hear you opinions on these..

I'm very new to auctions and I must say it's a real adrenaline rush...but not something I can afford to be addicted to! ;)

    Thank-you.

Not too keen on either Rolex.

The black dialed Seamaster is a caliber 34x bumper or 47x/49x full rotor and has the large logo on the case back - a feature that might bring the price higher than average when combined with the black dial.

Is the white crosshair dial a bumper or full rotor?

Say it like you think it! ;) i knew I could rely on you..Now others will follow...

Me neither but at least one might be going on ebay once I clean it up and make it respectable. The value for Rolexes usually stays up, even in this condition from what I've seen on ebay so they probably won't be keepers, as for the Black dial, it's not bad if it's original. and the textured dial, I have no clue what the movement is...You shall see on Monday if and when I manage to open it up.

I hope not...:) Some of the lots astounded me. Some really ridiculous amounts from internet bidders, and the watches weren't even that nice! Did you win anything ?

No I didn't there was one lot I really wanted the sm300 but it went for a bit over my limit once the buyers premium was added. There where a few others I vid one but not with too much conviction as I was bummed after that

For some reason, I'd assumed you had to be there in person. Thank god i had as this could have killed my wallet. I see those rolexes as a sound investment once cleaned up...

I think your Rolexes are nice + cool looking, and depending on what you paid-you should be ok there. You could p[ost them on the Rolex Forum and get opinions re value, etc
I like the black dial Seamaster-I'm sure it will look great after a cleaning-and the large logo on the case back should be a plus
IMO you can't beat a black dial Omega
    Congrats on your pick ups

Nice pick ups, especially the 2nd one. I think the 1st one will have a Cal. 47X/49X and the 2nd one will have a Cal. 50X.

Thanks Kyle. I think the first two have the best cases. They don't look too polished which I like. Naturally they'll have some age but at least it's gracefully..ill post pics of the movements when they come through..::watch this space::

This is where a steel case is much better than gold-filled or plated. All of the watches should clean up nicely. Not sure of the condition of the movements, but if they are all in working order, you did quite well.

Any working Rolex under US$500 is a bargain in today's market. I've seen badly redialled ones go for over $1K on the Swamp. A decent watchmaker should be able to polish up the hands when it is serviced.

    You did good! :)

You have done very well, especially none of the watches that you selected has a refinished or reconditioned dial, as far as I can see. As for the other relatively minor negative aspects, they can be easily overcome, in the hands of an experienced watchmaker.

Seldom will you go wrong with any Rolex and also, any desirable Omega vintage-watches.

    Congratulations and good luck.

    Thank-you.

A few arrived from the postman today.. And I just took a few snaps this morning of the omegas as it's gone 1am in the UK!

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358644777.279721.jpg

Not original bracelet but I have to say that this is one of the best black dials I've seen in the flesh. Also the Seamonster logo on the back is really cool.

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358644842.662869.jpg

The waffle is ::gorgeous:: I love finding them in this condition. They are both probably rotor by the sound of it..I have a few too many bumpers at the moment anyway..will be letting go of something after this!

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358644981.529480.jpg

    The number configuration is perfect..

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358645027.913118.jpg

You can see its still got the crisp edges..::love::

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358645081.829065.jpg

Shame about the engraving but ill live!

    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1358645137.613241.jpg

Now I need some strap opinions for these...something in budget would be nice..max £35!? lol :)

Okay, I'll call it a score for both Omegas. The black dial looks much better in your picture than the auction's shots.

    Strap? Try this seller:

Just received one from them and it should have been twice the price or more for the look & feel.

Unfortunately, they don't ship outside the US. I'm sure it has something to do with CITES issues on the exotic leathers.

He'll need to find a UK seller,

Yeah, I'm very happy. It's really in good condition. It reminds of your old (now Alam's) Connie Calendar as the black is without that shiny lacquer you get in brand new dials, giving it a really unusual effect close up!
