Hi guys, as I am not so into Constellations I would kindly ask you for your help. I was offered a arrowhead constellation without pictures of the movement or information on the cal. I am not sure whether it is a bumper cal 354 or cal 505. Is it possible to check it from the lugs or is there something else I can rely on. Help very appreciated Duffy
Two very different movements. You should be able to tell by the way the rotor feels when moving if it's a bumper of a full-rotor automatic. Also, the casebacks are different; google images and learn to tell the difference.
As the watch is not with me I can't test the bumper. Not sure about the difference in the caseback. What do you mean?
With a bumper movement, you’ll be able to feel the thumping as the hammer rotor hits the spring whereas you won’t feel the thump in a cal 505 because it is a full rotor.
Can anybody help me identifying the movement from those pics? Price is not that cheap - about USD 1.900,-
I've just had a look at a few Connie's both 505 and 354 and from the case back straight on view I can't see any discernable difference. From side on the cases housing the 354 appear slightly slimmer ( I haven't measured them ) But from the dial style with the applied 'Omega' and the later 'Ω' my money is on a 505 ref 2852
Thanks to everybody for your help @ConElPueblo can you please let me know what the difference in the caseback is as you mentioned before. Would be nice to learn something for the future
I've been googling references like a maniac the last half an hour and now I am not certain anymore If there were two casebacks next to each other, I could be more certain, but I think I'll just scuttle away again and take back my previous statement - but no matter what it is, it sure does look great $1,900 would make it a firm "Hell no!" from me, though.
Wouldn't you think the thinner lugs are for a 354 (though it could just be the angle...)? My 2852 for comparison (and they sure look similar in a couple ways)...
There are case variations, so not a firm clue. I have a 2852 with skinny lugs and have had a 2852 before with fuller lugs...
