Has anyone encountered this interesting Seamaster variant before, featuring the above-referenced dates and an Argentine flag? I've submitted an archive extract request. The end date is fascinating, falling as it does on the year of the military coup in Argentina. I sssume these were ordered before the coup, but anything is possible, I suppose! Any help appreciated!

My guess is locally added. The extract will not note the flag. Is there anything on the caseback?

Appears to be below the dial finish and exceedingly high quality. But that could, of course, be local work as you suggest. I'll be curious to see country of delivery anyway.

Do the Afghan National Army Seamasters show anything special on the extracts?

Best, Hurley

Well delivery to the Afghan Army…

in this period omega did do some dial additions but they tended to be more elaborate and have caseback additions.

dials printed locally tended to be more common in this period. The fact there is no documented history on these tends to lean to locally added by dealers. Like the US Football Bowl watches, middle eastern gift watches etc.

it’s a super cool piece with an interesting history no doubt. But I’d bet money an extract will just say delivered to X our importer in Argentina in 1965.

Eagerly awaiting extract! Mostly curious to see whether these were delivered pre or post-coup.

I am sure you're right!

that looks like 150 years of independence by somebody who loves this country. for sure the flag was added locally, some decent craftsmen in the 60's were around.
