I saw this oil fill mod yesterday and decided to try it on my 2254. Well I did not get all the bubles out and now the watch have stopped. I use the thinnest oil I have, a mineral based multipurpose oil. Does it have to be silicone oil? What sould I do now? Flush out the mineral oil with silicone oil? would that help?

You filled the volume between the dial and crystal with oil? How can you be certain that it will not leak into the movement? There would seem to be plenty of pathways, including the date window. Or is this a quartz watch?

If your bezel is hard to turn, maybe this helps. Fill the gap between the bezel and crystal with some thin detergent. Then let it sit for a wile and pull a sewing tread around the bezel between the bezel and case. Rinse in luke warm water. This sould loosen any dirt and make the bezel easier to turn. Remember there are springs under there, be gentle.

A hard bezel may also be a sign that its time for a sevice.

Need to open the Helium Release Valve -- those bubbles are from the helium inside. You can have mineral oil or Helium, but not both.

I see bubbles. I hope you didn’t remove the back of the watch case and fill your watch with oil!

Dont worry it was just an attemt at a aprilfools joke. The bubles are soap on the outside of the crystal. 😀
