    Afternoon all.

I am currently in the process of sorting through the contents of my brother in law's, late grandfather's, workshop. He was the last in the line for the family watchmakers business, and thus there are the remenants of 125 odd years of watchmaking. He was the UK agent for Breitling and Cyma/Synchron in the late 60's so some interesting stuff. Unfortunately, I think in his later years, he was diddled out of some of his nice pieces (Rolex and Breitling) by dealers. However, there is a host of bits left, and I have agreed to work through them, sift out the good stuff etc. Along the way, I have come across some Omega parts (including a 3 layer, boxed set of case/crystal tools). My question is, are these bezels Omega, my inital thought was SM 300, but now think not. Dimensions are 40.3 OD, 31.00 ID. Thoughts pls.

Certainly look like Omega design and fonts to me, but I'm far from an expert on divers.

If you have a good deal of parts to dispose of, My advise would be to list them on eBay over several weeks, listing numerous pieces at once and believe me, collectors will find them and bid accordingly.

Looks like a legit Seamaster 300 bezel (early 60’s?).

Thanks for the response guys, now I have done a little more cross referencing, I think it is safe to say they are for ref.165.024.

You'll probably have to wait a while to get a reply to that, he'll be busy replying to PMs for the foreseeable future :)

I hope it’s 50 and I hope they’re all in excellent shape. The one pictured has some DNA on it but looks pretty good. I love finds like this.

I’m hoping he found an entire box of them! I absolutely love the story of barn finds.

Morning chaps, alas, there is not a box of 50, but there are two, one in I'd say 99% condition and the other excellent but with a tiny bit of discolouration on the triangle. I am yet to decide on selling both, and may well keep one as stock. There is also a DON but I am afraid this is already dibbed. There are quite a lot of other Omega bits, certainly some pieces of 321, as well as a fair few three hand movement spares etc. There are also some bits (non-omega) that are even rarer.

However, it is a massive task sorting through the parts. As an example, imagine a tray with 50 mixed cases on, some of which are interesting, many are not, all without casebacks. Then, a matching tray with casebacks. Multiply that occurence by ten. There is a lot of Aquastar stuff as well as Cyma and Doxa. Some of it is cool, if not valuable, for example, a box of NOS Doxa Conquistadors!

It is going to take me a long while to sort through everything properly, alas, the poor chap had dementia in his later years, so things got in something of a disarray. However, it is far better I spend the time doing it, than my brother in law's Nan just having had a house clearance chap give a pittance for the lot, and then probably not recognised the gems they had among the tat. I will keep you posted and for those in the UK, I should be up at the Birmingham C&W fair on the 21st with some of the first tranche.

Much better having someone in the know to sort through everything. Even if laborious, it will make a better outcome, and we get to tag along with all the great finds!

I apologize for not linking back to @uwsearch original post. I cut and pasted these 2 pics so long ago that I forgot from whose thread they were. Thanks again @uwsearch !
