Are the LE Speedy's made with more care than regular editions?

I used to have an FOIS and now have a CK2998. The CK2998 is much, much smoother to wind than the FOIS which seemed a little gritty. The case of my FOIS felt rougher, especially the brushed sides whilst the CK2998 case is impeccable. My FOIS also had a problem with one of the chrono hands not resetting perfectly which had to be resolved under warranty. Has anyone else noticed a difference in quality between the standard speedy's and the limited editions?

    Interesting!
I have the same two watches but I didn't noticed it. I always notice a little difference on feedback while charging a brand new Manual Speedy, but I assume is due to tollerance on parts production.
..Maybe the quality control system is more accurate on limited pieces: very often you get different products from a normal production system, but it is usually related to raw materials batches and a quality control that is not so accurate on every single piece. In this case is possible to assume a more accurate control on every piece, since they are a limited number..

    Cheers :)

I have a 3570.50 from the late 1990s and two LEs from 2004, and in terms of quality they all look and feel the same to me.

They're made in the same factories, to the same QA standards... a 1861 movement, for all intents and purposes is a 1861 movement.

Sounds like you maybe had a less than perfect FOIS more than anything else.

Yes but although the case is the same, the FOIS definitely seemed rougher, almost unfinished. ::confused2::

I have both, thought the 2998 was easier to wind purely because the crown is a little wider/thicker. [emoji848]
