Take the springs out and give them a good clean, also clean the recess. A sharp wooden toothpick is good for removing the springs and cleaning the hole. 馃憤

And can be still ordered from Omega.
Since the hole for a ball is 1mm, the ball is slightly smaller 馃榾)

Bezel lock on diver watches with rotating bezel. Nowdays the bezel is secured by a steel spring ring, but on the vintage Omegas the bezel is secured from free rotation by ball bearings, usually 3 bearings per bezel.

Exactly, and they provide a reassuring click from being sprung loaded beneath the bearings.
